CONTAINMENT

This work is constructed from overlapping translucent volumes, arranged in an ascending structure that suggests accumulation, progress, and fragility. Each layer seems to support the next, as if stability depended on a constantly negotiated balance.

A grid of metal rods envelops the whole, containing and delimiting it. The structure does not oppress, but it does impose limits: it organizes, controls, and defines the space that matter can occupy. The transparency of the volume contrasts with the rigidity of the framework, revealing the tension between what flows and what is restricted.

Containment refers to the systems—social, economic, cultural—that we have created to sustain growth and order, and how those same systems can become frameworks of pressure. Within my research on the symbols that have accompanied the evolution of civilization, this piece presents containment not only as protection, but also as an inevitable condition of all human construction.
